Banana Fosters Milk Shake

Banana Fosters Milk Shake
1 tablespoon rum extract *optional
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 cups bananas, sliced in 1/2 inch segments
1/4 cup cinnamon baking chips or 3/4- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
Milk (add to desired milk shake consistency)

In a large skillet add the rum extract and heat until it approaches a simmer.  Carefully ignite with a match and allow the alcohol to burn out.  Stir in the butter and brown sugar until melted.  Add the bananas and gently stir for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.  Remove from heat.  Stir in the cinnamon baking chips or cinnamon and pour into a blender.  Add the ice cream and mix until smooth.  Depending on your desired consistency add additional ice cream or milk.  Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.

Garnish with whipped topping sprinkled with cinnamon, cinnamon chips, or shortbread cookies.

This has a rich flavor that is oh...so...good!

Yields: 2 servings
