Luck of the Irish Embroidery

Considering it is still March I decided to post an idea you can tuck away for next year, especially considering that St. Patrick's fabric is on sale now!  This is a little embroidery piece I designed a few years ago.
(A special thanks to my sister who took these photos!)

Instructions: First, I died muslin fabric with cocoa powder.  Then, I sewed long (if you want to mass produce this project) strips of festive fabrics together in which I then cut 2 inch perpendicular strips.  Next, sew two pieces of muslin on both sides of the festive strip.  Finally, using a disappearing marker write your saying above the festive strip.  You can use a font in Microsoft Word as a pattern.  Hold the fabric over the pattern and tape to the window to aid you in tracing the words.  Embroider the words using two strands of embroidery floss.  I used three colors to get the variation of colors.  Frame your piece and Enjoy!
